Your final grade in this course will be based on the assignments described below.  You will be judged by the criteria associated with them.  Grade weightings are noted parenthetically.

Class Participation (10%)
Criteria: Attendance, Involvement, Knowledge of Reading (including Discussion Board)

Preliminary Topic (5%)
Criteria: originality, feasibility, relevance to course themes

        Due Date: Jan 30, 2008
       
Top Five Secondary Sources (5%)
Criteria: relevance, recency, and variety
        Due Date: Feb 20, 2008      

Top Three Primary Sources (5%)
Criteria: relevance, accessibility, reliability, and variety
        Due Date:  Feb 27, 2008      

Paper Proposal (15%)
Criteria:  clarity, organization, and documentation
        Due Date:  March 5, 2008

Preliminary Findings (10%)
Criteria: clarity, organization, enthusiasm, and audience engagement

        Delivery Dates: March 24-March 31, 2008

Final Oral Presentation (10%)
Criteria: clarity, organization, enthusiasm, and audience engagement

        Delivery Dates: April 23-May 5, 2008

Final Paper (40%)
Criteria:  originality, scope, organization, clarity of argument, documentation, and writing quality
        It should be between 15 and 25 pages, including endnotes and bibliography.
        It must be typed or word processed with the endnotes and bibliography in correct form.
