HS-LFA

HS-LFA (Leu, Phe, Ala) is a specific inhibitor of Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 (Gelatinase A).  When applied to retinal cells in vitro, it causes a major change in the activity of the growth cone.  Filopodial extension is inhibited, and the terminal of the axon becomes swollen, with occasional small blebs that form and then retract.
