Short Bio

Yu Jung is a graduate student at Temple University in Boyer College of Music. She was born in Seoul, Korea, and started her musical studies at Ye Won school (Art middle school for young artist in Korea). She studied with Prof. Choong Mo Kang at Seoul Arts High School and Korea National University of Arts. She finished her Master of Music (M.M.) and Graduate Performance Diploma (G.P.D.) under Prof. Yonghi Moon at Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. She was granted scholarship basis of her audition and gave many recitals at Peabody. She won numerous competitions including Saegae ilbo and Munwha ilbo competitions in Korea. She had several invited recitals (including an invited guest recital at Esber Recital Hall, The Pennsylvania State University, PA USA). She premiered a work by Andre Singer at Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center in 2008. Recently she played SAINT-SAENS Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor with Temple University Symphony Orchestra.

She is currently working toward doctor of musical art (DMA) degree under Prof. Charles Abramovic in Temple University, Philadelphia.
