Short Bio

Yu Jung was born in Seoul, Korea, and started her musical studies at Ye Won school (Art middle school for young artist in Korea). She studied with Prof. Choong Mo Kang at Seoul Arts High School and Korea National University of Arts. At that time she won numerous competitions such as Saegae ilbo and Munwha ilbo competitions in Korea. Then she finished her Master of Music (M.M.) and Graduate Performance Diploma (G.P.D.) under Prof. Yonghi Moon at Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. She was granted scholarship basis of her audition and gave many recitals at Peabody. She had several invited recitals (including a guest recital at Esber Recital Hall, The Pennsylvania State University - Recital Flyer). In 2008, she premiered a work by Andre Singer at Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center. Currently she is pursuing Doctorate of Musical of Art (D.M.A.) under Prof. Charles Abramovic at Boyer College of Music, Temple University.
