Safety is one thing that Temple students should have no doubts about. Temple is one of the safest place in the whole of Philadelphia.
Temple University’s Department of Campus Safety Services is a 24-hour a day, seven days a week department. Temple University Campus Police patrol the campus and surrounding areas by foot, bicycle and patrol car. The Department also includes security officers who work inside various buildings, checking IDs and assisting staff and visitors. Temple’s security monitors everything that goes on here on campus. You can ask for directions and they will definitely help you. You can also ask security about policies pertaining to students and one more thing-expect security to escort Temple students across 13th street because of constant traffic.

Although Temple is a safe place, we have some safety tips for you:
Walk in groups at night whenever possible.
Do not leave your belongings unattended.
Walk with your purse or bag over your shoulder and not dangling from your hands.
Never leave your drink unattended at parties.
If you have any safety concerns, go to the Police station on campus.
Don’t leave your bags or belongings unattended, even at a Temple facility.
Temple security is there to help, feel free to ask them for directions or anything else.
Always be aware of where you are and who is around you.

Don’t venture to far off the well lit Temple campus, a lot of crime takes place just seconds away.
Don’t walk around with tons of spending cash.
Use only the ATMs located inside Temple University facilities. Put your money away before leaving the ATM area.
Wear your Temple I.D. on your outer garment.
Lock your car and keep all valuables out of sight. Utilize the campus parking lots.
Report all crimes to the Campus Police at 1-1234. Doing this can lead to speedy identification and recovery of property.
If you should see anything out of the ordinary or suspicious, immediately report it.
