This section, routinely stained with H & E, demonstrates that it is possible to distinguish smooth muscle from connective tissue. Smooth muscle surrounds the lumen of the small arteries. Smooth muscle interweaves with the connective tissue deep to the underlying the simple columnar epithelium lining the uterine tube.
