Penis, corpus spongiosum & urtethra - higher power
The corporus spongiosum is comprised of erectile tissue that surrounds the penile urethra. The urethra is lined by either transitional epithelium, nearer its origin at the bladder, or stratified squamous epithelium in the region of the glans. Numerous mucous glands and pit-like recesses of various sizes can be found throughout the length of the urethra. A thin tunica albuginea surrounding this structure.
