Submandibular gland, mucous endpieces with serous demilunes, - high mag.
The submandibular gland is a compound gland like the parotid and sublingual. In places, secretory units have pale mucus-secreting cells arranged around a wide lumen. Serous-secreting cells are also present, either forming purely serous endpieces or as serous “demilunes” associated with the mucous endpieces. Ducts are present.
