Hyaline cartilage - Trachea
The cartilaginous mass is composed of chondrocytes in lacunae and an extracellular matrix between the chondrocytes. The hyaline cartilage is surrounded by a perichondrium, composed of a cellular layer and a fibrous layer. The blood vessels supplying nutrients to the cartilage, but which do not penetrate into the cartilage, are limited to the fibrous layer, which blends in with the surrounding loose connective tissue.
