- Birder
- site has some pretty good links and info including a comparison of the major CD-ROM's. Check out the photos that have been contributed by the public in the Fun and Games section.
- Peterson OnLine
has articles, forums, etc. about birds and bird watching. Check out their Bird Watcher's Digest.
- BirdSource
is brought to us by the Cornell folks. It is a collection of special research projects including the Project Feeder Watch, Great Backyard Bird Count, Winter Finch Survey, etc. The site also has the Clemson Universitry migration maps for specific birds.
- eNature
has a bird finder to help identify birds. They also have field guides to trees, wildflowers, spiders, butterflies, seashells, mammals, as well as a number of other categories.
- Virtual Hawk Watch
from Hawk Mountain and Cape May. This is a great application of Web technology. You are invited to identify raptors as if you were viewing them on location. You use binoculars to get a closer view and there are some sound clips to help you out. This is a very high bandwidth site (it is slow) but be patient. The same site has a 360 degree virtual tour. This is a great site.

- Birding Hotspots has a collection of popular birding sites around the world. US sites are grouped by state.
- Cornell's Project FeederWatch for those interested in recording their bird sightings during a multi-month watch period.
- Cornell's Orinthology Site
has a large amount of interesting material including sounds and pictures.
- eBird is a bird counting service sponsored by Audubon. You can report any sighting at any location at any time. Helps them track birds. Helps you keep a life list.
- BirdzillaThough not as big as its name might suggest, there is material on backyard birding, shopping, photos, etc.
- Bird Watcher's Digest is the companion site to the magazine. The site includes sections on feeding, pictures, sounds, products for sale, lifelists, etc.
- Virtual Birder is a local site that has a little bit of everything.
- Suite 101's Birding Links is a set of birding links hand picked by the Suite 101 folks. Nicer looking than the Mining Co. but doesn't have as much material.
- Birdforum.net - lots of posts to lots of birding forums (identification, photography, feeding, hummingbirds, etc.)
- Wild Birds Unlimited This site has a birdfeeder cam with a new picture every 3 minutes. They have a collection of the 'best of the birdcam' pictures. One series shows a goldfinch in different stages of molting.
- Aviary is a pretty good birding site with links to other resources.
- The Nutty Birdwatcher has information on identifying birds based on colors. The site also has a list of birds that are native to Pennsylvania. Very nice looking site.
- Field Guide to Birds- allows you to identify a bird by entering its characteristics - sponsored by the BioDiversity Institute.
- The Mining Company's Birding links- You can usually bet on good links at the Mining Co.
- Smithsonian 's Migratory Bird Center
- PA Area Rare Bird Alert has info on bird sightings in the Pennsylvania area.
- Hummingbirds is a great site to learn about the hummers.

- Bird Checklists for 48 states is sponsored by the Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center. Each checklist indicates "...seasonal information about the abundance of various species in a reported area."

- The Fat Birder has a bunch of birdling info - mostly in the UK.

- Elk Neck State Park in Maryland, is one of Cecil Bird Club's hotspots.
