Biography

Dr. Jongmoo Jay Choi is Laura H. Carnell Professor of Finance and International Business at Temple University. He teaches international finance, capital markets, and corporate finance. He is a graduate of Seoul National University and has an MBA and Ph.D. from New York University. Previously he was on the faculty of Columbia Business School and an international economist at Chase Manhattan Bank. He was a visiting faculty at University of Hawaii, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), NYU (Stern), International University of Japan, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. As an author of over fifty articles and several books and over one hundred presentations, he is an internationally renowned scholar in international business finance, global capital markets, exchange risk management, corporate finance and governance, and emerging market finance. He is a founding editor of an Elsevier annual, International Finance Review, an editor of Journal of Economics and Business, and is a member of nine editorial boards. He is a former President of Korea-America Finance Association and a trustee of Multinational Finance Society. At Temple, he is a doctoral advisor of international business, a former chair of finance, and a member of faculty council of the Institute of Global Management Studies and CIBER. He is a recipient of Musser Award for Excellence in Leadership and Distinguished Faculty Alumni Research Fellowship, and an inductee of Research Roundtable.
