Making Broadcast, Internet, and Video Connections
TIF has been extremely fortunate in having had the benefits of the WHYY Radio Times connection. Radio Times has meant higher quality programming; added campus excitement; a large and uncommonly influential and well-educated listenership; and, not least, added stature for TIF and Temple. Still, arrangements such as the Radio Times connection are in some ways fortuitous and do not always last. Other colleges and universities might well find it expedient to market TIF-like wares to their campus radio station, or to public access television, or to an educational video network. Videotaped coverage can also be streamed via the internet. It helps at the very least to have an organizational website such as the TIF site. TIF is also extremely fortunate in having had the digital video services of professional videographers. Universities considering adoption of the TIF model might well consider incorporation of these accoutrements into their business plans.
