Harith Wickrema, a faculty member at Temple University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Philadelphia. Harith is a true visionary who started Harith Productions in 1987 and was selected as one of Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs in 1988 by YEO.  Harith has managed the Official 4th of July Celebration for the City of Philadelphia which included hundreds of volunteer staff and corporate sponsors as well as celebrities such as Mel Gibson and Michael Douglas.  Other programs that Harith has managed range from an event on the top of the Eiffel Tower to a green eco-friendly event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2002, Harith was awarded the Event Planner of the Year award by Event Solutions Magazine and his company is a finalist for Event Company of the year award for 2008. 

As a business owner and having worked at and with both publicly traded companies, government agencies, civic and non profit organizations. He has amassed a wealth of practical knowledge retaining and securing clients and employees. Harith’s extensive speaking and consulting engagements have taken him around the world including Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Hungary, Malta, Mexico, South Africa, Morocco, Dubai, France, Greece, France, Singapore, Sri Lanka. Harith began his events career while still attending Temple University.  He planned university wide events on campus.  Harith then went on to work for the Philadelphia 76ers before starting his own Event Management Company. He is a past President of ISES Foundation and supports many industry boards and non-profit organizations. Currently,

Harith is developing the first ultra-luxury, eco-friendly executive retreat in the US Virgin Islands. Harith Productions Ltd has either won or been nominated for over 60 international awards including Gala Awards, Esprit by ISES, Crystal Award by SITE, EIBTM and Successful Meetings Magazine awards.  Harith has been teaching at Temple University for 8 years and is also currently a member of the Fox School of Business Board of Visitors.  Harith Productions hosts an active intern program through the year.  Harith invites industry leaders to his class.  For further information please contact harith@harithproductions.com
