E. Research in Progress

I am currently conducting a study of the development and institutionalization of TQM practices in the United States.

With Andrea Brooks, I am conducting a field study of the implementation of Total Quality Management in hospitals in Pennsylvania. I have received a grant-in-aid from Temple University to support this research.

With Brian McAulay, I am conducting a study of employee reactions to increased job insecurity in the United States.

With John Ritchie I am studying the impact of employee age on job satisfaction, commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior.

I have developed a model of factors leading to "high performance" in organizations and I am in the process of preparing an empirical study to examine the validity of this model in U.S. companies.
