DIVISION INFANTRY (3 Regiments), 9,354 officers and men

INFANTRY REGIMENT: One HEADQUARTERS COMPANY (108 officers and men), three INFANTRY BATTALIONS (871 officers and men each), plus one SERVICE COMPANY (114), CANNON COMPANY (118 officers and men, plus six 105mm towed howitzers), and one ANTITANK COMPANY (165 officers and men, plus twelve 57mm antitank guns mine-laying equipment) make an INFANTRY REGIMENT.
 

INFANTRY BATTALION: One BATTALION HEADQUARTERS and HEADQUARTERS COMPANY (126 officers and men, including an AMMUNITION AND PIONEER PLATOON, one ANTITANK PLATOON with three 57mm antitank guns, and a COMMUNICATIONS PLATOON), three RIFLE COMPANIES (193 officers and men each), one HEAVY WEAPONS COMPANY (166 officers and men divided into a MORTAR PLATOON and two MACHINE GUN PLATOONS), BATTALION TRAINS, and one BATTALION MEDICAL SECTION make an INFANTRY BATTALION..
 

INFANTRY COMPANY: Three RIFLE PLATOONS, one WEAPONS PLATOON (consisting of a MORTAR SECTION containing three 60mm mortars and a LIGHT MACHINE GUN SECTION containing two .30-caliber machine guns), and three COMPANY AID MEN make an INFANTRY COMPANY.
 

INFANTRY PLATOON: Three INFANTRY SQUADS make an INFANTRY PLATOON.
 

INFANTRY SQUAD: Ten RIFLEMEN (armed with M1 Garand rifles), one BAR MAN, and one SNIPER (armed with a Model 1903 Springfield rifle) make an INFANTRY SQUAD.
 

DIVISION ARTILLERY (2,160 officers and men in one MEDIUM ARTILLERY BATTALION and three LIGHT ARTILLERY BATTALIONS)
 

MEDIUM ARTILLERY BATTALION: 519 officers and men in a HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS BATTERY (115 officers and men), one SERVICE BATTERY (77 officers and men), and three FIRING BATTERIES (four 155mm towed howitzers and 109 officers and men each) make a MEDIUM ARTILLERY BATTALION.
 

LIGHT ARTILLERY BATTALION: 509 officers and men in a HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS BATTERY (132 officers and men), one SERVICE BATTERY (77 officers and men), and three FIRING BATTERIES (four 105mm towed howitzers and 100 officers and men each) make a LIGHT ARTILLERY BATTALION.
 

OTHER DIVISION ELEMENTS: One MEDICAL BATTALION (465 officers and men), one ENGINEER BATTALION (647 officers and men), one SIGNAL COMPANY (236 officers and men), one RECONNAISSANCE TROOP (155 officers and men), one ORDNANCE MAINTENANCE COMPANY (147 officers and men), one QUARTERMASTER COMPANY (193 officers and men, plus 48 2 ½ ton trucks), the DIVISION BAND (58 officers and men), and one MILITARY POLICE PLATOON (73 officers and men).
