· $25,000 grant from the SBA to establish a Minority Business Development Program within the SBDC (1986).

BUSINESS/INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE
 

· GENERAL MANAGER, Edimax Division, UTI Corporation, Collegeville, PA (1974-75). Responsible for planning, budgeting, and implementation of production and marketing of a new EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine) System in the U.S. and Europe.

· ENGINEERING MANAGER, Special Projects and Development, Keystone Carbon Company, St. Mary's, PA (1967-72). Coordination of manufacturing, engineering, and R&D departments in developing and implementing new processes and products.

· PROCESS ENGINEER, Fibers Division, Allied Corp., Petersburg, VA (1965-67). Responsible for coordinating R&D, engineering, and manufacturing departments in pilot plant operations for special synthetic fiber production.

CONSULTING EXPERIENCE
  Conducted an analysis of Research/Technology Planning and Business Strategy in a multi-million dollar chemical division of a multi-billion dollar corporation (1989).
  Advised more than 50 small companies and entrepreneurs of start-up and ongoing businesses on financial analysis, preparation of business plans, and loan proposals.
  Designed and instituted a computerized internal control system for financial management of a large diversified construction company.
  Conducted training programs for CPA's to use statistical sampling techniques in auditing.
  Worked on the planning and marketing phase of introducing a new and innovative machine developed in France for the U.S. market. Prior involvement in the same project included a two month feasibility study of the product in France. Related travels to England, Holland, and Germany.
  Participated as a consultant in writing proposals to the NASA and to the SBA to bid for contracts for a project for Technology Transfer from federally funded R&D programs to small businesses in the Delaware Valley area.
  Collaborated in developing an instrument to collect data in a nationwide survey conducted by the National Science Foundation to study policy implications for government funding for R&D projects.
