Research/Scholarly Journals

Once again, research journals exist to advance primary research, often for particular academic disciplines. The articles published in such journals tend to have footnotes, bibliographies, and discussions established from the previous research. Usually, they are relatively longer and more abstract in concepts and theories. Research journal articles usually report on the results based upon the authors' research observations & experiments, empirical/case studies, or literature reviews. They are written mainly for scholarly pursuits by faculty and graduate students. However, these articles often discuss information relevant to undergraduate students and industry professionals. The primary research work often emphasizes on specific industries but deals with fundamental concepts or structures that are broadly applicable to certain phenomena, rather than specific products or companies. Strictly speaking, research journals are “peer-reviewed,” which means that articles are selected for publication based on criteria set by an editorial board of experts in the discipline. Articles in research journals are important sources of current expert knowledge on a topic communicated based on results of recent academic research. Scholarly journals are sometimes called academic journals, research journals, peer-reviewed journals, or refereed journals.

The following is a list of tourism/hospitality research journals and their basic information: (Note: the list is not an exhaustive one and I am still updating it)
