Research Interests

The following describe my principal areas of research:

  • Entrepreneurship -- locally and globally  

    Written extensively in scholarly journals, e.g., Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice.

    Co-authored book on entrepreneurship titled: High Performance Strategies for Entrepreneurial Firms -- A Study of over 500 Firms. [1991]. It is co-authored with Radha Chaganti [Rider University] and Stewart Malone [University of Virginia].

Currently I am working on my third book tentatively titled "Venturing in to e-Businesses from Brick and Mortar: Strategies for Building Internet-based Ventures."

  • Corporate Board of Directors, Institutional Investors, Top Management Teams, and Chief Executive Officers

Written extensively on the subject in scholarly journals, e.g., Strategic Management Journal,  Journal of Management Studies.

  • Corporate Restructuring, Management of Turnaround, Plant Closures and Relocations.  

    My most recent book on the subject is titled: Corporate Governance and the Timeliness of Change: Reorientation in 100 American Firms [1998]. It is co-authored with Hugh Sherman [Ohio University].

    I am frequently interviewed by the business press and media on the subject. My writings have appeared  in professional journals, e.g., The President.
