Professional Background

By training I am an engineer. Received B. Tech in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras [1959-64]. Went on to do MBA at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta [1964-66].

Worked for a major international chemical processing corporation in Calcutta before  joining the faculty of the Administrative Staff College of India [ASCI], Hyderabad, in 1967. Taught in several of their junior, middle-level and senior executive development programs.

In 1969-70, attended the Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University. I was in their International Teachers' Program under a Ford Foundation fellowship.

In 1973, left ASCI to pursue Ph.D. at the State University of New York, Buffalo. Received  my Ph. D. in 1978.

Before joining Temple University in 1981, I taught at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, and University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, in Canada.
