Inferential and Multivariate Statistics (563)

This course starts with a review of bivariate statistics and moves quickly into multivariate statistics focusing on multiple regression. The emphasis of this course is on conceptual understanding, interpretation, and application. All major computations will be performed using the SPSS computing program. Students will also learn the basic skills for working with large social science data sets. This course serves as a prerequisite for Sociology 564, which involves the application of the statistical procedures taught in this class to the study of real sociological problems through analyzing secondary data sets.
