| The Windward 34 was designed
in 1941. This design became a popular racing class in San Francisco Bay.
In the 1952 Hearst Regatta in San Francisco, the Windward class had seven
boats. One of the boats carried sail number 12.

Al Banta's new Windward,
named Santana, slides into the water in 1951.
Her sleek lines and deep
keel are apparent.
Her coach roof and windows
were strikingly curved.
The owner's party is pleased!
The Windward below is in Argetina

| This lovely 34 foot sloop
was built in Argentina in 1952. She was a successful racer under
CCA and IOR Mk III, winning many local races around Buenos Aires and distance
races to Uruguay and to Brazil in 1975.
She is still sailing for pleasure and in perfect condition. Please send me information
about other sisterships.
