Vagabondia 38

design #729, 38'3" x 31'3" x 11'9 x 5'9" Motorsailer, 1962

Rhodes designed clipper-bowed motorsailors in several lengths, 64' (La Belle Sole, 1956), 45' (Meltemi, 1964), and 38' (Vagabondia, 1962).

The Vagabondia 38, as the others, has a center cockpit.  Aft of the cockpit is a private aft cabin with its own head.  The main cabin includes a dinette and linear galley.  An enclosed head is to port.  A forward cabin has traditional vee berths.  In this smallest version of this concept, the aft head is not enclosed and there is no below deck passageway from the aft cabin to the main cabin.

The rig and interior of this boat are oriented towards family cruising, but the hull shape looks remarkably like Rhodes' successful ocean racer Thunderhead, designed a few months earlier.
