This design seems to have been Rhodes' basic 28' water line boat. She had a 9'8" beam. Over the decades, Rhode's 28' hull widened a bit, to 10'3 for the Bounty II /Rhodes 41 and 10'9" for the Rhodes Reliant. The galley was amidships, between the main and forward cabin, across from the head. In Rhodes' earlier designs, the galley was forward. Later it was aft; this boat with a midships galley clearly is "transitional." The original of this design was Surf Bird. Another was Gurkha II, which seems to be the boat above, currently named Endeavor. For sale, January 2004
