Questions from owners; please reply directly to them if you can.
Hi Ben,
I just received an email from a guy in Italy claiming that his ranger
was "built in Italy" by a company called "Sailboats of Crespellano" I wrote
him back with several questions regarding his statement, do you know if
there were any Rangers built in Italy?. I am under the impression
that Seafarer built all the Rangers that were ever constructed, however
according to an article on the seafarer web site, when Seafarer moved production
to the US they didn't import the plugs/molds. Could the Ranger Plugs/Molds
have somehow ended up in with this company in Italy? Anyway....If
you ever hear of anything let know, and I will do the same.
Thanks

Dear Ben;
I recently purchased a '62 Rhodes Ranger, hull # 60. She has
what appears to be ordinary house plaster on her interior bulkheads where
the fiberglass liner would be on most boats. It seems to be in amazingly
good condition after 38 years! Could this really be plaster? If so, do
you happen to know if all the Rhodes Rangers were made this way? Also,
my cockpit sole is spongy, as is a small area of the deck on the starboard
side. Do you know what coring material Seafarer used, and what would be
the best way to repair these spongy areas?
Many thanks! "Lance F. Gunderson" <lgunder@attglobal.net>
