Idler

design # 525, 25' x 20' x 8' x 3'10", designed in 1946

The Idler was a weekend cruiser, with a fin keel, making her a somewhat atypical design for Rhodes.  The original design had a low trunk cabin and only 4'5" headroom.  A later model was given a doghouse, which enabled standing headroom.

Here's information about one for sale (January, 2002):

I have a beautiful Rhodes sloop for sale, the Idler 26', built about 1962, mahogany on oak.  She is 100% beautifully restored.  Two summers ago I launched her and spent 2 months sailing the New England coast from Connecticut to way down east Maine.  Now things are changing in my life and I need sell her.  Elliot in Vermont.  802 387-1163
