| Escapade was one of the
"maxi" ocean racers, 72' overall, designed in 1937and built by Luders in
the same year. Rhodes was developing his centerboard model at that
time, and Escapade was the largest boat with that hull form.
She was a very succesful racer in the 1950s and 60s, on both the Atlantic
and Pacific Oceans and especially on the Great Lakes.
