Alondra, later named Caribbee, was a famous racer and cruiser, especially after she was purchased by Carleton Mitchell in 1947. Mitchel raced her in the Southern Circuit, TransAtlantic, and at Cowes in the early 1950s. She was one of Rhodes' earliest keel-centerboarders, and became the inspiration for Finisterre and many other yachts of that design. Alondra was restored in Holland during 2004-06. In the restoration, her interior was up-dated. The galley, originally forward, was brought back to her midships companionway. Alondra was offered for sale on Yachtworld in April 2006: http://yachtworld.com/core/listing/boatFullDetails.jsp?boat_id=1487634&checked_boats
