in Newport, CA, and launched in Spring 1928. WestWind is the oldest registered boat in the state of California having the hull number CF0002AA (CF0001AA sank some years ago). She has changed owners 4 times in 72 years and was captained over 40 years by Wiley Cole, Commodore of the Southern California Yachting Association and the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, under the name Lourita.

In 1999, WestWind underwent extensive restoration at Southcoast Shipyard in Newport, CA.  She is currently in pristine classic condition in San Diego, CA.
