Live!
Vol. 5 Duo Paganini, is from an 1807
concert featuring great music for violin/viola and guitar. All
works, written by guitarist/composer Allen Krantz, include:: an original
composition "Nocturne" for viola and guitar; arrangements of
Schubert's lovely "Arpeggione" sonata; Piazzolla's colorful
"Histoire du Tango"; and by Paganini - the Genoese violin
virtuoso who loved both the violin and the guitar. The viola featured on this recording is The Pellegrina, an asymmetrical "ergonomic" viola made by gifted, innovative luthier David Rivinus. It delivers the sound of a large instrument but the playing ease of a small viola. |
