| Prof. Marjatta Lyyra received her B.Sc and M.Sc at the University of
Helsinki (1972, 1974) and Ph.D at the University of Stockholm in 1979.
She has been teaching and doing research at Temple University since 1991.
She is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. Prof. Lyyra
and her husband Benedict Stavis, also a professor
at Temple University, have two
children.
