Dr. Julie Booth is an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology in the department of Psychological Studies in Education at Temple University. She earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University and was trained as a postdoctoral fellow with the NSF-funded Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center. Her research focuses on the development of mathematics skills, both in elementary school and in middle and high school algebra. She is particularly interested in how prior knowledge affects learning in math, and in developing instructional interventions to fill gaps in students’ conceptual understanding and facilitate subsequent learning.
